KeyLearn (“we”, “us”) is an AI-powered learning app that turns a topic
into a day-by-day roadmap of short lessons. This policy explains what
we collect, why, and your choices. By using KeyLearn you agree to this
policy.
Information we collect
- Account details — your name and email address. Your password is stored only as a salted hash; we never store it in plain text.
- Learning content & progress — the roadmaps, lessons, quizzes, questions, streaks and progress you create or generate in the app.
- Your AI API keys (optional) — if you add your own provider key, it is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and never shown again or shared.
- Device push token (optional) — if you enable notifications, an Expo push token for your device so we can send reminders/updates.
- Basic usage — e.g. when you last opened the app, to power streaks and reminders. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
How we use it
- To provide the service — create your account, generate and store your roadmaps/lessons/quizzes, and track progress.
- To send transactional email (email verification, password reset, and account/feature notices) via our email provider.
- To send the optional push notifications you enable (daily/streak reminders, and announcements).
- To generate learning content, the topic and related prompts are sent to an AI provider (Google Gemini, and—if you choose—Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) to produce lessons and quizzes.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the
service providers needed to run the app: our hosting/database, our
email provider, push delivery (Expo / Google FCM), and the AI provider
used to generate your content. Each processes data only to provide
their service.
Data retention & deletion
You can permanently delete your account at any time
from Account → Delete account in the app. This removes your
profile and all data you own — roadmaps, lessons, quizzes, questions
and progress. You may also email us to request deletion.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and any AI keys
you provide are encrypted at rest. No method is 100% secure, but we
take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
KeyLearn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
